The Burger King fast food catering service has been indefinitely closed in Krasnoyarsk - an administrative center of Eastern Siberia.

"The catering service was suspended for technical reasons because of power shortages paid for by the leaser," a source from the Krasnoyarsk regional Industry and Trade Ministry told ITAR-TASS Thursday. No date has been announced as to when the Burger King catering service might resume work.

The Burger King catering service was launched in Russia three years ago. It now has more than 120 fast food restaurants across the country. Earlier, the Burger King company had announced its plans to enlarge the network of Burger King restaurants to 500 in 2016 against 120 restaurants it has now.

Earlier, another fast food producer, McDonald's, had suspended four restaurants in Moscow for breaching sanitary norms.
